ATTENTION ALL LAWYERS AND NON-LAWYERS!

Now that we have your attention here are some immediate actions you can take to support our Constitution and the rule of law:

  •  Save the Date: LAW DAY, May 1st (AKA May Day!) at Noon, at a Federal Courthouse near you. This is a nationwide gathering, particularly, but not exclusively of lawyers, to re-commit to our Constitution and the rule of law.  More details to follow.

  •  Stand up Against Voter Suppression.  The deceptively named “SAVE” Act is coming up for a vote THIS WEEK.  This bill could disenfranchise millions of people, including women who have changed their name when they married.  Please call you Congressperson; you can use this script:  https://5calls.org/issue/save-act-voter-suppression/ .

Voter fraud is a non-problem in search of a solution.

  • Know an associate in a firm, or a law student who want to support the rule of law?  Here are Toolkits for each group, created by Rachel Cohen -the associate who famously resigned from Skadden after challenging them to support the rule of law (and they didn’t):
  • Wed., April 9:  WBA Program Women’s Issues Under the Current Administration with Emily Martin (NWLC); Prof Jamie Abrams (AU Law School); Qiana-Joy Ochiagha; (NAACP) 5:30-7:00 in person  at Hunton Andrews Kurth, in DC. Register HERE (scroll down to April 9).

We try not to duplicate information we have already posted, unless there’s an update, so please refer to our prior posts for additional resources and opportunities.  (You can find them on our website: https://womenlawyersonguard.org/our-issues-wlgan/)

Please forward this to your networks.  And don’t hesitate to send us additional resources and volunteer opportunities that you hear about ESPECIALLY OUTSIDE THE DC AREA.
