What We Do
Women Lawyers on Guard Action Network, Inc. is a 501(c)(4) that:
- Advocates and lobbies change-makers in support of our mission
- Actively encourages its members to run for office
- Calls on our members to take action on specific issues
To the wrongs that need resistance, to the right that needs assistance, to the future in the distance . . . Give yourselves.
For me, a better democracy is a democracy where women do not only have the right to vote and to elect but to be elected.
I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.
Get Involved and Change the Landscape
Today, more than at any other time since the 1940s, our Constitution is under attack, often by those we have elected to represent our interests in state legislatures, Governor mansions, the U.S. Congress, and our Executive Agencies.
Women Lawyers On Guard ACTION Network, Inc. is fighting back against partisan attacks from both sides of the aisle, advocating to political leaders and other change-makers on topics essential to preserving our democratic freedoms, opportunities and institutions; encouraging our members to run for political office by directing them to opportunities to learn how; and forwarding a limited number of calls to action to our members.
*Women Lawyers on Guard Action Network, Inc. is a 501(c)(4) organization that can engage in lobbying and (to some extent) political campaign activity (which means it can encourage its members to run for office, ask its members to support or oppose candidates for political office, and respond to calls for action, consistent with U.S. tax law).
An affiliated organization, Women Lawyers On Guard Inc. is a 501(c)(3). This organization supports research, education of the public, advocacy, litigation, amicus briefs and our volunteer matching program.
